Jacobs Structural Engineers in Chile to help with earthquake efforts

From August 2-September 12, a group of ten Structural Engineering students were in Chile in response to the 8.8 earthquake earlier this year. The team met with local professors and professionals to discuss the effects of the earthquake. The team also took time out to complete humanitarian work in a rural community that was near the epicenter.
Advanced Energy 2010 Conference

The Advanced Energy Center announces a two-day conference to discuss technical and educational issues on energy. The conference is timely in that the world is witnessing an unprecedented growth in developing countries, which presents challenges for the resources needed to sustain such growth. The challenge for the scientific community is to identify technical approaches that will hasten the introduction of energy technologies in the marketplace.

Job Opening Graduate Advocates – Student Affairs, OGS

The purpose of this position is to provide advising, mentoring and academic support for the participants in STARS. STARS is designed to provide underrepresented, undergraduate STEM students with intensive summer research experience. Students conduct research full-time with a faculty mentor. They also make a presentation at the Summer Research Symposium. The goal is to prepare the students for graduate studies and increase their motivation to apply to UCSD graduate programs.
US Grants Funds Available!

US Grants are funds ($25,000 per year) set aside strictly for undergraduate research and for travel expenses to attend research conferences/presentations. Whether it is an individual endeavor, part of a lab effort, or in a student-led team, the funds are meant for all majors and to support a diverse array of projects. One need not have any research experience to apply, for the number one factor in selection is the overall quality of your application.
California Space Grant Consortium Exploration Internships
