Join IEEE Projects: Natcar and Micromouse
IEEE projects are a great opportunity to get hands-on project experience while applying theory and skills learned in the classroom. Our projects provide the kind of experience that employers and grad school admissions committees are looking for. While GPA will get you an interview, project experience will get you the job.
Natcar

Natcar is an undergraduate design competition where teams of undergraduate students design, build, and race an autonomous car which must follow a track marked by white tape on dark-colored carpet. Under the tape, there is a wire carrying a 100mA rms 75kHz sinusoidal signal.
IEEE UCSD is funding 3 teams at $500 each. Two of the teams are formed, and we are looking for someone to lead the third team. A budget of $500 will be provided, and the team is expected to compete in the competition on May 16, 2010. It's not too late! This is a great opportunity to get engineering design and leadership experience without having to worry about funding.

Micromouse

Are you interested in robotics? IEEE Micromouse is looking for electrical engineers and computer science majors. Micromouse is a maze solving robot that solves a 16x16 cell maze autonomously within a ten minute time period. Stop by the team's next meeting this Wednesday, 11/4 at 7pm in EBU1-4710 if you are interested. This is a great opportunity to learn embedded C programming on an ARM core!
