COMBAT AQUAholism 2009: Film, Art, and Innovation Competition

The Combat AQUAholism Film, Art, and Innovation Competition is now accepting entries that cover water-related issues such as:
- Water dependency
- Water scarcity and conservation
- Water abuse and pollution
- Human rights to water
- Sustainability
Film
• Films / videos / PSAs must be under five minutes and burned on a DVD.
Art
Types:
- Photography
- Multi-media; graphic art
- Sculpture
- Drawing
- Painting
- Mural
- Banner
- Reproduction: All artwork will also have the chance to become reproducedon future SRC publications and Student Sustainability Collective and / or
- related organizations’ posters, buttons, recycled notebooks, websites and more.
- Public Art: A selection of projects will also have the chance to be temporarily displayed outside on campus. Indicate in your write-up if you envision your artwork as more effective as public art, and explain why.
- Reproduction: All films will also have the chance to become played at future SRC events and at the UCSD Bookstore during November.
Innovation: Innovation projects may include a design or actual creation of a project that promotes local or global:
- Water conservation
- Clean water
- Water access
- Resource management
- Sustainability
- Water-use efficiency
- Sustainable urban development
- Projects can range from engineering more efficient water fixtures, rain catching devices, water bottle fountains, lawn monitoring, etc.
- You must turn in the release form (online or hardcopy) by Monday, October 26th.
- Include a one-page write-up that describes the project and how it promotes water awareness.
- Label your entry and write-up with your name and category.
- Only one project can be submitted per participant.
- Fill out the waiver if you allow the SRC and SSC to use your artwork.
- You may send .doc, .pdf, etc. files to AQUAholicsucsd@gmail.com.
- Location for drop-off: UC San Diego Environment, Health and Safety, Environmental Affairs Office.
- Fourth floor of Pepper Canyon Hall, Room 417; Monday – Friday between 9am and 4pm.
