IEEE Computer Society Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship

IEEE Computer Society is offering $40,000 in student scholarships from $1,000 and up to recognize and reward active student volunteer leaders who show promise in their academic and professional efforts.The deadline for application submissions is 30 April 2012.
Named in honor of a late past president of the Computer Society who was passionate about helping students develop leadership skills, the
IEEE Computer Society Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship application period is now open through 30 April 2012. The selected
winners of this award will have the opportunity to serve as IEEE CS Student Ambassadors for the particular IEEE region to which they
belong. Duties as Student Ambassadors will include collecting and disseminating information to all IEEE CS student chapters in their
region and serving as a liaison between the Member and Geographic Activities Board (MGAB) and the IEEE CS student members.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Graduate students, and those in the final two years of an undergraduate program in electrical or computer engineering, computer
science, information technology, or a well-defined computer related field. IEEE Computer Society membership is required. Applicants are
required to have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 over 4.0, and be a full-time student as defined by his or her academic institution
during the course of the award.
