Summer Pre-Engineering Program (PrEP)
Summer PrEP is a 3-5 day residential program for admitted freshmen and transfer students from historically underrepresented groups in Engineering.
Our goals for Summer PrEP are to:
- Foster a sense of community and support among participating students
- Prepare incoming students academically for the rigor of engineering studies
- Provide incoming students tools to aid in the transition from high school or community college to UC San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering
- Build awareness of relevant campus programs and resources
- Inspire students by exposing them to opportunities in engineering
Activities that are designed to address these goals include:
- Social and teambuilding activities
- Academic-themed workshops and information sessions
- Introduction to campus academic resources
- Industry networking event
