Revenue from licensing doubles
Revenue from the commercialization of intellectual property developed at the Jacobs School more than doubled from $602,700 taken in during the 2004 fiscal year to $1.3 million a year later, according to UCSD Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Services (TechTIPS).
During the same period, total UCSD revenue from commercialization of discoveries made at the university rose 43 percent to $21 million in the year ended June 30, 2005. UCSD's invention portfolio totaled 1,913, more than 25 percent of the total for the 10-campus University of California system, for the year ended June 30, 2005, the most recent year for which statistics are available.
