Boeing Funds Engineering Scholarships
For the second year, Boeing Company has provided three undergraduate
scholarships valued at $2,000 each to be awarded to electrical and computer
engineering students this fall. Boeing is one of several Jacobs School
CAP members that participate in the school’s corporate scholarship
program.
“In addition to being a wonderful way of supporting students through
their college careers, industry-sponsored scholarships also help companies
to increase their name recognition and can be used very effectively to
recruit future employees,” said Marina Hayden, Jacobs School Scholarship
Program Manager, who notes that Engineering Student Services helps advertise
scholarships to students and make selections based on the company’s
criteria.
In addition to the gifts for scholarships, Boeing is providing $2,500
for Jacobs School student
organizations. The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), National Society
of Black Engineers (NSBE), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers,
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and the Triton
Engineering Student Council (TESC) have been awarded $500 each.
