1970 Sandra Hutchins
PH.D., INFORMATION & COMPUTER SCIENCE.
Hutchins is the manager of Research and Technology Services at Bloomberg LP in NYC, a financial information firm serving Wall Street and the global investing community.

1973 Sam Knight
B.A., APPLIED PHYSICS & INFORMATION SCIENCE.
Knight is Vice President of TechnoCom Corporation in Encinitas, CA. He has made his career in San Diego’s evolving technologies from computer aided design (CDC and GE/Calma), to graphics (Megatek and Encad), wireless (PCSI, ADC, TechnoCom), and broadband (Copper Mountain Networks). His wife is a teacher and they have two sons, a surveyor and a lawyer.

1982 Mark Schaeffer
B.S., COMPUTER ENGINEERING.
Schaeffer is working on cockpit-based information systems for business jets. He says with computer and display costs decreasing, this is a growing market.

1985 Dan Jacobson
B.S., APPLIED MECHANICS.
Jacobson works for San Diego Composites, a company which provides engineering services and develops new technologies for aerospace systems. He has been married for nearly 12 years to wife Teri. They have a 5-year old son Joshua, and are expecting their second child in December.

1986 Timothy K. Liem
B.A., BIOENGINEERING.
Liem recently accepted a position as an associate professor of surgery, in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University.

1990 Edwin T. Ozawa
B.S., BIOENGINEERING.
Ozawa moved to Boston after graduating from UCSD and has stayed there since, collecting a Master’s degree, a Ph.D., and an M.D. along the way. Currently he is a practicing physician at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.

1991 Matthew Lehrer
B.S., COMPUTER ENGINEERING.
Lehrer is the President and CEO of Teamwork Athletic Apparel in San Marcos, CA. He recently completed MIT’s “Birthing of Giants” entrepreneurial education program for young leaders under the age of 40 who have founded companies that gross more than $1 million.

1996 Taner Halicioglu
B.S., COMPUTER SCIENCE.
Halicioglu is a senior software/operations engineer at Palo Alto’s TheFacebook, where he has been helping to build the company for the past year.

1997 Inga Johannesson
B.S., BIOENGINEERING.
Johannesson graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Frankford Hospitals in Philadelphia. She married Adam Kazimierczak, D.O., last summer in a Scottish castle, and they are now living in Maine where they are enjoying the outdoors and learning to kayak.

2000 Henry Lin
B.S., BIOENGINEERING.
Lin earned his Ph.D. this year in the bioengineering program at Rice University. He is now working at Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA as a process development scientist.
