Alumnus throws students for a hoop

During basketball season, it will be nothin' but 'net for Jacobs School students. In January 2006, Jacobs school alumnus Brandon Nixon plans to launch the Enerdyne Challenge, which will involve e-mailing technical trivia questions to all engineering students to attract them to UCSD basketball games. All correct answers will be entered into a drawing during halftime. Prizes include iPods and digital cameras. The Challenge is sponsored by Nixon's company, Enerdyne, which designs and develops video data links primarily for the U.S. Department of Defense.

"It is a fun way to create a sense of connection back to your alma mater," says Nixon, a 1987 Jacobs School computer engineering graduate and former UCSD basketball player. For more information, e-mail challenge@enerdyne.com.
