Sergei KrasheninnikovProfessor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Fusion energy and plasma physics. Professor Krasheninnikov's areas of research include plasma, neutral, and radiation interactions and transport phenomena; plasma turbulence; atomic physics in plasmas; plasma-material interactions; gas discharge physics; and plasma chemistry. His focus is on techniques to optimize fusion energy production by improving plasma transport and confinement within the reactor, and discovering ways to fully utilize the power produced. Krasheninnikov is also interested in plasma-material interactions, plasma chemistry and plasma turbulence.
