Supporting tomorrow's technology leaders, one Alumni Fellowship at a time

Attracting top graduate students is critical to the teaching and research mission of the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering. But as a young, public institution, only 25% of our new Ph.D. students receive unrestricted fellowships. Such fellowships enable the Jacobs School to competitively recruit the best minds to UCSD, regardless of their ability to pay. Receiving a fellowship gives students the freedom to explore research interests in that critical first year of study. And fellowship support helps the Jacobs School attract rising stars to our faculty, providing a great start with a team of talented students.

Through the Dean's 1:3 Challenge Match, our goal is to create up to six $35,000 Alumni Fellowships in each of our academic departments. Your gift, in any amount, is critically needed so that we can attract the most talented Ph.D. students to the Jacobs School, and with the excellent start of a UCSD education, prepare these innovators to become the next generation of technology leaders.
