Important Dates:

• Please register your poster title and abstract no later than 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 13th, 2008.
• Special AV/Facility Requirements: If your poster requires AV equipment or has special set-up requirements, please contact Leah Kent at lkent@ucsd.edu no later than Wednesday, February 13th, 2008.  Requests cannot be guaranteed.
• If you have not printed your poster yet, please do not do so until you are notified of your poster's acceptance. If you wait until the last moment, you may end up paying extra for printing or find that you cannot get your poster printed in time! PLEASE NOTE: EUReKA will pay up to $25 in printing costs per poster. Any printing costs exceeding this will be the responsibility of the student.
• After your abstract has been reviewed by the committee, you will be notified on Tuesday, February 19th, 2008, whether your abstract has been accepted to be presented at EUReKA! 2008.

  Please see http://acs.ucsd.edu/students/#print to set up an account to have ACS print your poster. ACS estimates the cost anywhere from $5 to $50. ACS has a no-print queue that can be used to preview a poster and give a cost estimate before it is actually sent to the printer. This is a self-help printer with minimal technical help. Please plan in advance. Posters can sometimes take several hours to print depending on how complex they are and the paper they are printed on. There is no way to predict how long it will take for the finished product. If you are not prepared to work on the formatting yourself, you may be better off going to another service. This is explained at http://acs.ucsd.edu/print/cplot.shtml#expectations.

Please note that all posters must be 3 x 4 posters or (Height= 36" Width= 48")

Please remember that Monday, February 18, 2008, is Presidents' Day and many business observe this holiday.  The campus does observe this holiday, so please plan accordingly if you plan to use campus services for your printing needs.

Information for Oral Presentations:

• Each Oral Presentation are restricted to 3 minutes long.
• Only one person from each poster gives an oral summary.
• This is for you to practice delivering a concise, effective pitch and making a positive first impression.  
• Please use one “quadrant” PowerPoint slide giving title, name(s), mentor(s), department/organizations, motivation/background, approach, a figure, and a summary.
