COSMOS Students Present Their Research at the California Nobel Laureate Dinner, November 9, 2009
UCSD COSMOS was pleased to have four students from the 2009 session present their research at the prestigious California Nobel Laureate Dinner on the evening of November 9th, 2009. The event was held at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, and was organized by the Consulate General of Sweden and the University of California Office of the President. In attendance were California Nobel Laureates, high-ranking California officials, and California's top scientists. Congratulations to our students and students from the other three COSMOS sites!

High School Students Awarded Intel Research Grant, November 6, 2009 [press release]
The following high school students have been selected to receive a $500 Intel Research Grant in order to support their continued research in science or engineering. The Intel Corporation is a major sponsor of the California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS). The goal of this competitive award is to support research by UCSD COSMOS alumni, to encourage them to enter projects in science fairs and competition, and to enable them to excel in future academic endeavors.

2009 COSMOS Students Presented Gordon Leadership Awards at Award Dinner on October 13, 2009

The mission of the UCSD Gordon Center is to educate and train effective engineering leaders who create new products and jobs that benefit society. The center offers an engineering leadership education and awards program for high school, undergraduate, graduate and professional students with leadership potential. Each COSMOS student received a Gordon Fellows Medal and a $500.00 cash award.

The Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology recognizes remarkable talent early on, fostering individual growth for high school students who are willing to challenge themselves through science research. Through this competition, students have an opportunity to achieve national recognition for science research projects that they complete in high school. It is administered by The College Board and funded by the Siemens Foundation.
