Get Involved
There are a number of productive ways to engage with the Jacobs School of Engineering:
- Regional event host
- Scholarship support
- Scholarship selection committee
- Speak at a Student Professional Organization meeting
The UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering invites you to be engaged with faculty and students through the alumni programs!
JUMP: Jacobs Undergraduate Mentoring Program
Graduate student run mentoring program for undergraduate engineering students that matches small groups of underclassman and upperclassman with a major specific graduate student as well as UCSD alumni. We have mentoring opportunities for all levels of commitment you are able to give! You can request to be matched individually with undergraduates for continual mentoring, attend any of our quarterly large group meetings for occasional mentoring, or serve on one of our industry/career panels, coordinate a tour of your company, or create your own event for more topic focused mentoring! Adopt-a-student for a
day!
Build a strong alliance between UCSD alumni in industry and current students! Alumni have one:one opportunity in their own workplace to help guide and inspire students with their career goals and aspirations and establish a relationship with a student for future recruiting/mentoring opportunities. Students witness first-hand your company culture and day-to-day operations. This experience also helps them further refine their post-graduation plans and career goals.
UC San Diego Alumni/Students Triton Tables
The UC San Diego Alumni Association invites you to host a Triton Table at your home or a venue of your choice. As a host, you agree to provide dinner for up to 10 undergraduate students and create an informal and welcoming environment where you can share your Triton experience and life after UCSD. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and your advice. This is a great way to give back and impart valuable wisdom to the next generation of UCSD alumni.
Dinner with the Deans, Faculty, Alumni and Students
We love to showcase our undergrads!
With 27 Triton Engineering Student Organizations (TESC) now part of the Jacobs School, there's so much going on all the time. Our engineering student organizations present their activities and projects to the Deans, faculty, alumni and guests and everyone participates in small round table discussions on a topic relating to professional leadership.
Evening with the Jacobs School
The Jacobs Graduate Student Council event brings together faculty, graduate students, industry, and alumni for brief research presentations, networking, and guided discussion over a buffet dinner. Jacobs Graduate students present on their cutting edge research from the Jacobs School strategic focus areas; Engineering in Medicine, Information Technology & Applications, and Energy Environment & Sustainability. Alumni have an opportunity to network and engage graduate students in discussion topics related to engineering leadership and building an engineering community.
