GENERAL DESCRIPTION of POSITION:

Position Title: Software - Application Support Developer

    The Active Platform Services team is responsible for building a highly configurable, high volume application services that will support multiple market applications as well as core Business Intelligence functions. Responsibilities of the job include responding to production support issues, performing bug fixes and developing small to mid sized enhancements. The position will require a software engineering background, knowledge of patterns and best practices, team skills and strong hands-on coding abilities. In addition, the candidate must have good troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and remedy problems. Success in this job depends upon the candidate?s ability to multi-task, quickly adapt to new development environments, communicate effectively, own issues through to resolution, and find creative solutions to complex problems. The ability to function at a high level in a fast paced environment along with a team of very talented engineers is essential.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

    Java/JEE development (servlets, jsp, etc.) Web technologies (HTML, Javascript, DHTML, CSS, Ajax) Database experience Web services OOP/Patterns/Best Practices Strong troubleshooting skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:

    Agile/Scrum Use of Java frameworks such as Spring MVC, Spring Webflow, Struts, Hibernate, etc. Use of Javascript frameworks (jQuery, Prototype, etc.) Experience with an MVC framework
