Admissions Timeline at a Glance

Prior to Transfer
  1. Research engineering majors and UCSD Transfer Admissions Requirements
  2. Research UCSD 6 colleges and Jacobs School Major Preparation Requirements
  3. Meet with a counselor in your community college Transfer Student center to plan out your transfer and visit the UC Transfer website.
  4. Visit UCSD campus and take a guided tour
  5. Find out about Financial Aid and CA Residency Requirements
  6. Watch Jacobs School majors overview videos
  7. Get oriented! Find out more about the Jacobs School by viewing the following FA06 new student presentation by Dean Frieder Seible
November 1-30 Apply on-line for Fall admission. Don't forget to update your transfer application during the posted deadlines.
March 2 FAFSA (Federal and State financial aid) applications due
Mid-March to April 30
  1. UCSD MyApplication decisions available on-line
  2. UCSD admission decision letters mailed to all applicants
  3. Jacobs School engineering major decision letters mailed to applicants
Saturday, May 9, 2009 UCSD Transfer Admit Day
Monday, June 1, 2009 (11:59 PM PST) Deadline to submit Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)
July 15

Annual deadline for Fall admits to submit official  transcripts to UCSD

Summer to Fall Attend undergraduate College orientation and/or register for Fall classes
Late September Attend academic department orientation on the Tuesday of Welcome Week
