Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students with distinct and demonstrated leadership potentials may apply to the Gordon Center to become Undergraduate Gordon Scholars, and thus participate in the Gordon Center's undergraduate program. This program consists of participation in:
- Leadership management and product design courses (ENG 100a, ENG 100b)
- A challenge project in product development
- Leadership workshops and forums
Graduate Students
Graduate students with distinct and demonstrated leadership potentials may apply to the Gordon Center to become Graduate Gordon Scholars, and thus participate in the Gordon Center's graduate program. This program consists of participation in:

One of the following leadership courses:
- Engineering Leadership in Academia
- Systems engineering leadership
- Leading a challenge project in product development
- One engineering leadership summer school
- Leadership workshops and forums
Professional Students
Professional students in one of the Jacobs School of Engineering's professional degree or certificate programs, who display distinct and demonstrated leadership qualities, may apply to the Gordon Center to become Professional Gordon Scholars, and thus participate in the Gordon Center's graduate professional leadership program. This program consists of participation in:
- Leadership management and systems engineering leadership courses as part of the professional degree or certificate program.
- Participation and leadership in a challenge project in product development as part of the professional degree or certificate program.
- Leadership workshops and forums
Currently, the Jacobs School of Engineering and the Rady School of Management jointly offer a professional certificate degree program in Architecture-Based Enterprise Systems Engineering (AESE) that targets, specifically, engineers who seek to become engineering leaders in their respective organizations. AESE contains in its core curriculum a course on "Leadership Skills, Values, and Teamwork," as well as a sequence of engineering and management courses that equip students with technical and managerial leadership skills.
