PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
Los Alamos Employees interested in taking courses with UCSD
- Students wishing to take a course for credit or for enrichment must register and pay fees through UCSD's Extended Studies concurrent enrollment program. Students taking courses for credit in anticipation of acceptance into the graduate program must take courses for a letter grade. Although grades are required for degree program credit, grades will not count towards degree GPA.
DEGREE PROGRAMS
Los Alamos Employees interested in pursing an advanced degree with UCSD
- Students interested in pursing an advanced degree must apply and be admitted to a UCSD graduate program. On-line applications are available at: http://graduateapp.ucsd.edu/. Prospective applicants should meet UCSD graduate school admissions requirements and have taken the graduate record exam; GRE scores are considered current for 5 years from the test date. GRE information is available at http://www.gre.org .
- Students who are accepted into a degree program must register and pay fees to enroll in UCSD courses.
- Students may pursue advanced degrees through two modes of study:
Full time student status at UCSD (leave of absence from LANL)
Part time student status at Los Alamos (partial release from staff duties at LANL)
- ESA Division Employees who have been admitted to a UCSD Graduate Program may apply for support through ESA at Los Alamos .
- LANL Advanced Study Program is also available to employees interested in pursuing an MS or PhD (see AM 410)
UCSD Graduate Students interested in pursing a degree in the area of validated simulation with Los Alamos
- UCSD Fellowship support may be available to qualified students interested in pursing graduate research in the area of validated simulations.
